# Skills

Skills are the abilities that Pets can gain as they level up.

The `Skills` section of the [Configurator's](/setup-guide/skilltree-creation/creating-custom-skilltrees.md) Inspector allows you to add or remove the skills included in the skilltree and configure the individual skill parameters.

<figure><img src="https://2973673588-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbDDqqkbXYyKdy88rOP6U%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-ed463511192511abd33696b65ee47fa481e255ea%2FSkilltree%20Skills%20Dropdown.png?alt=media" alt="" width="210"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click the `Skill` dropdown at the top of the section to select a skill, then click the `+ Add Skill` button to include it in the list.

Click on an individual skill to edit its properties. A newly added skill will warn you that no upgrades have been added, so from here you can click the `+ Add Upgrade` button. In the popup that appears you can choose between a `fixed` and a `dynamic` level-rule.

`Fixed` rules will apply the upgrade on fixed levels like 5 or 1, 3, 5, and 7.

`Dynamic` rules can be used if you want to apply the upgrade over a certain range of levels, for example every 2 levels like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, ... or 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.

From here you can configure the parameters specific to each skill. These are further explained on each skill's page linked in the table below.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.mypet-plugin.com/setup-guide/skilltree-creation/creating-custom-skilltrees/skills.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
